AAALAC awards for 3Rs innovation

EARA member AAALAC International has announced details about its 2025 Global 3Rs Awards worth $10,000 (USD) each.


Up to four awards will recognise significant innovative contributions toward the 3Rs in animal research to advance ethical science by any researcher in academia or industry in any area of biology (e.g. basic science, discovery, development, teaching, testing, manufacture for new medicines, vaccines, medical devices or healthcare products for humans and animals). Apply by 1 June.


AAALAC, a private, nonprofit organisation that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through its voluntary accreditation program, has also just released a Trends Data Review (available as a video) analysing previous years of accreditation site visit findings, from 2023-2024.


Globally, AAALAC has 1,128 accredited programs in 51 geographic areas.
