A joint open meeting, hosted by Ms Vicky Ford MEP and Dr Cristian Busoi MEP, at the European Parliament, in Brussels, in January 2015, discussed why, and in which ways, animals are used in scientific, medical and veterinary research in the EU as well as the principles of refinement, replacement and reduction (3Rs) and how they are applied in research.
