Basic Research Media Training

EARA will hold the first of this year’s series of media training workshops next week, with a focus on how to improve communication of basic research involving animals.

Basic, or fundamental research, can be more difficult to discuss with the public and the media, as there is often no direct link between the research and a medical or human application.

The interactive online workshop, held via Zoom, is aimed at researchers that use animals in their work, as well as communications staff, who are interested in developing their skills and expanding their conversations with the public and policy makers.

Due to the interactive nature of the workshop, spaces are limited to ensure opportunity for group discussion. The first event, on 23 February, is full, but similar workshops will be held online throughout the year.

The workshop is supported by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and Society for Neuroscience (SfN).
