EARA has welcomed three new organisations this month to its membership and also begun a new phase in its progress.
EARA is now accepting membership applications from organisations that do not have European-based offices, so as well as the Hellenic Society of Biomedical & Laboratory Animal Science, from Greece, both the Association of Primate Veterinarians and the Brazilian Association of Hospital Veterinarians have joined EARA in January.
EARA executive director, Kirk Leech said: “We are very pleased to be able to open up our membership to any organisations across the world that want to become more open and transparent about the use of animals in research.
“European best practice is something that EARA is happy to share beyond this continent to other institutions and bodies that have plans to improve their communications with the wider public. We are happy to discuss collaboration with any interested organisations.”
There are now a total of three non-European-based organisations in EARA, as US-based In-Tox Products, joined in late 2021.
