UK animal research advocacy group Understanding Animal Research (UAR) has published an article dispelling the falsehoods being spread about Covid-19 vaccines and research.
The piece addresses 10 of the most common ‘urban myths’, including the false claims by activist groups that animals were not an important part of Covid-19 vaccine development and safety testing.
Concluding the article, author UAR’s Chris Magee, said: “We can’t stop trolls from making up vaccine myths, and we can’t stop animal activists making up research myths, but in both cases it’s essential that the scientific community stands up for the truth. Left unchallenged, these myths don’t go away, but become somebody’s reality.”
