EARA board member Wendy Jarrett has spoken to the Research Comms podcast about the importance of animals in research.
Wendy, CEO of the UK advocacy group Understanding Animal Research, spoke about changing attitudes towards animal research, the myths that opponents use in arguments and how scientists should communicate with the public, such as on the topic of Covid-19.
“It's a strange thing, that something that's been so devastating across the globe, has actually been something that has helped us in our communication about the need for animals in research,” she said.
