Event on infectious diseases

An online conference that looks at the key aspects of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases will take place tomorrow (Tuesday).

Hosted by the University of Coimbra, Portugal, the conference Emerging Infectious Diseases brings together leading experts in the molecular biology of viruses, infectious diseases and immunology and will focus on the progress made in vaccine development, including effectiveness, safety, and the gaining of public trust.

Among the speakers are Jeremy Farrar, Wellcome Trust, UK, Özlem Türeci, BioNTech, Germany, and Sylvie Briand, World Health Organization.

The event, co-organised by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, takes place on Tuesday, 27 April 9am – 5.30pm WET.
